Founding Growth & Operations Lead
Location: New York City (Hybrid, 3 days in office per week)
Kinstead is building the AI-native operating system for independent healthcare, enabling nurse practitioners to launch and run their own clinics. We replace the fragmented, manual infrastructure behind healthcare with a single, intelligent system so clinicians can spend their time on care, not paperwork.
This creates a new model of care, one where clinicians practice on their terms and patients get consistent, community-rooted care. We’re backed by Wisdom Ventures and founders and executives from Pomelo Care, Flatiron Health, Roivant, and PathAI on our mission to deliver better care.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Founding Growth & Operations Lead to help build and scale a network of independent nurse practitioner-led clinics.
You’ll own one of the most critical parts of the business: how clinicians go from signing up to running high-performing, growing practices and how that process becomes faster, more predictable, and scalable across a national network.
You’ll operate at the center of the company, working across growth, operations, and product to turn early traction into a repeatable system.
You’ll spend time in the field with clinicians as they launch and grow their practices, and translate what you see into the systems, workflows, and product that power the platform.
We’re an AI-native company. You’ll help define what gets automated, what becomes product, and how we build an operating system that removes friction from care delivery.
If you want to learn how to build and scale a healthcare company from 0 → 1 and beyond, this is that seat.
What You’ll Do
Launch and grow independent practices: partner with clinicians to build thriving, patient-serving businesses
Run operations end-to-end: get into the details across credentialing, billing, scheduling, and workflows to make clinics actually run
Build the engine that scales the company: turn what works on the ground into repeatable systems, playbooks, and product
Drive the growth playbook: design and run experiments that accelerate how quickly clinics launch and grow
Eliminate operational drag with AI: identify what should never be manual and build workflows and automations to replace it
Stay close to the front lines: spend time in-market with clinicians and use those insights to shape how Kinstead operates
What Success Looks Like
Clinics launch faster, with fewer blockers and more predictability
New practices ramp patient volume quickly and sustainably
Systems improve continuously, reducing manual work over time
What starts as scrappy execution becomes scalable infrastructure
You become someone the company relies on to take ambiguous problems and turn them into outcomes
Requirements
2-3 years of management consulting or startup operator experience (preferred)
Strong communication skills — you can explain complex things clearly and calmly
High ownership — you take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks
Ability to work through ambiguity and figure things out as you go
Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where things change often
Nice to Have
Experience in healthcare operations, customer success, or startups
Background as a practicing clinician
Familiarity with insurance workflows, billing, or EHR systems
Experience supporting small businesses or independent professionals
How We Work
We’re building something ambitious, and we care deeply about how we show up while we do it.
🤝 We stay close to clinicians
We spend time with the people we serve, in their practices and in their communities. The best ideas come from understanding their reality and building alongside them.
⚡ We take responsibility and move things forward
If something matters, we don’t wait for perfect clarity. We step in, make progress, and figure it out together.
🧩 We turn what works into something that lasts
We solve problems in real time, then step back and build the systems that make it easier for the next clinician.
🤖 We use AI thoughtfully
We look for ways to reduce manual work so clinicians can focus on care. If something feels repetitive, we treat it as an opportunity to improve how we operate.
🌱 We care about building something meaningful
We’re here to help clinicians create independent, community-rooted practices. That responsibility shapes how we make decisions and how we grow.
💛 We are kind, direct, and low ego
We support each other, give honest feedback, and focus on getting to the right answer. We take the work seriously, but not ourselves.

Competitive salary and meaningful early-stage equity as well as a performance-based bonus

In accordance with applicable laws, we provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. Final compensation will depend on a number of factors, including experience, skillset, and leveling, as well as internal equity considerations. At Kinstead, we’re building infrastructure for healthcare that serves entire communities—not just a narrow slice of them. That requires a team with diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and ways of thinking. We are committed to hiring people from a wide range of backgrounds, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, religion, disability, and veteran status. We believe better teams build better systems—and better systems lead to better care.
Please apply even if you don't meet 100% of the criteria. Nobody checks every box every time and we'd love to talk to you about how and why you can see yourself growing into this role. We're also very open to candidates with non-traditional experience.
