About the role

We are looking for a Strategic Finance Manager to drive analytical decision-making to support Candid Health’s growth. In this role, you won't just handle financial planning—you will partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations and company leadership to drive business execution and growth.

You will be responsible for owning business planning & forecasting, analyzing our unit economics including margin / profitability, increasing efficiency and scaling of our GTM motion, and optimizing our capital allocation decisions to maximize growth.

What you’ll be doing

  • Strategic Planning & Analysis: Own P&L forecasting, including annual plans, quarterly forecasts, and monthly reporting.
  • Unit Economics & Pricing: Deep dive into our gross margins and define CAC/LTV by customer segment.
  • Capital Allocation: Conduct rigorous analysis on TAM, new product opportunities, partnerships, and M&A to ensure we are deploying capital toward the highest-leverage outcomes.
  • AI-Enabled Forecasting: Move beyond manual Excel updates. Leverage AI-driven FP&A tools / systems to automate variance analysis and rolling forecasts, allowing you to focus on the strategic questions rather than tracking performance.

Who you are

  • Experience: 4-6 years of finance experience (strategic finance, investment banking, and/or private equity), including experience owning forecasting and analytical decision making at a high growth company.
  • Analytical Powerhouse: You are driven by innate curiosity to get to “the why” and to understand root cause and are comfortable leveraging big data sets to inform decision-making. You have high proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, but you are also comfortable using SQL to pull your own data.
  • Communication: You can translate dense financial data into a compelling story for non-finance stakeholders. You don’t just present options - you have a point of view on what action should be taken and you’re not afraid to share it. The ideal candidate combines deep financial expertise with practical operational leadership and is comfortable partnering with executives on long-term strategy.
  • The "Multiplier" Mindset: You are a "player-coach" who wants to build the templates and systems yourself. You proactively look for ways to use AI and automation to make our financial planning process 10x faster and more accurate.

Pay Transparency

The estimated starting annual salary range for this position is $180,000 - $200,000 USD. The listed range is a guideline from Pave data, and the actual base salary may be modified based on factors including job-related skills, experience/qualifications, interview performance, market data, etc. Total compensation for this position may also include equity, sales incentives (for sales roles), and employee benefits. Given Candid Health’s funding and size, we heavily value the potential upside from equity in our compensation package. Further note that Candid Health has minimal hierarchy and titles, but has broad ranges of experience represented within roles.

Location

We are an in-person culture. We believe the best work happens when we are in the same room and our ideal weekly schedule is 4 days working from our San Francisco office and 1 day working remotely.

About Candid Health

What we do

We’re fixing one of the most broken and costly pieces of the US healthcare system: medical billing.

Today, healthcare providers spend over $250B each year on administrative overhead just to get paid by insurance. Medical billing is expensive because it’s nuanced and hard - maybe ~100x harder than credit card payment processing - and because it’s traditionally done by armies of humans who track and manage complex rules and processes specific to individual insurance companies with little or no supporting software.

We’re rethinking medical billing from the ground up, using data science and machine learning to automate much of this complexity, so healthcare providers can get paid dramatically more easily and inexpensively.

Since finishing the Y Combinator W20 batch we've been funded by an incredible group of funds + angel investors. We have many more customers begging to use our product than we have bandwidth to serve, which is why we need you to help us scale!
